In the early days of their
                     architectural practice,
                     Shulamit and Michael
                     Nadler planned a number
                     of cultural centers in new
                     agrarian settlements
                     (moshavim) and New
                     Towns. These buildings,
                     which are seen by some
                     as the period’s secular
                     synagogues, served as
                     places for civil cultural
                     events in the Hityashvut
                     Ovedet (labor settlements).
                     Beside their function as
                     entertainment venues,
                     they were also used for
                     various types of gatherings
                     and social or political
                     assemblies. From civic
                     halls and culture centers,
                     through youth and training
                     centers and cinemas
                     in older New Towns,
