                              First prize in competition

                              The planning competition for the Journalist Association
                              House, situated in what at the time was the eastern edge
                              of Tel Aviv, was held in July 1948. The Nadlers’ proposal,
                              one of 24 submitted, presented a complex with three
                              connected buildings of two and three stories engulfing
                              an internal courtyard. The central wing, facing the main
                              street, was shaped as a horizontal box containing two
                              conference and lecture halls (135 seats and 328 seats
                              each), a reading hall, offices and a restaurant. The roof
                              floor has a wide balcony and a library. The design of the
                              central façade intentionally emphasizes the building’s
                              public function. Therefore, it is raised above street level
