Southern back façade with lobby with the internal courtyard at its edge. A raised
shading elements, 1957 vestibule along this façade enhances the building’s link
‫חזית אחורית לדרום עם פתרונות‬ with the street, as do three wide and tall openings that
1957 ,‫הצללה‬ measure a third of its length. The two other wings were
designed to hold additional offices and halls, and at one
Northern street façade, 1957 point there were thoughts of converting part of the space
1957 ,‫חזית צפונית אל הרחוב‬ into a hotel for foreign journalists.

The War of Independence hindered the
fundraising for the building, and the construction was
postponed until 1953, with the central unit and wing
perpendicular to it completed two years later. The back
wing was completed within a few years. Whereas the
main wing, facing Kaplan Street, was declared a historic
preservation building – the Journalist Association is
planning to build an apartment and office building on the
rest of the plot. The historical structure will continue to
                              function in its original use.
