1956 Histadrut Building,
                    Ashkelon

The Histadrut Building was planned to serve
representatives of the Trade Union workers in Ashkelon.
It comprises two structures set perpendicularly enclosing
a lawn and garden. The main double-story unit holds
offices and is covered in light blue mortar. The ground
level faces the lawn and retreats from the front edge of
the building, whereas the entire length of the top floor
façade is perforated with a row of windows and between
them patches of red plastered wall. A glazed and covered
passageway leads to the neighboring wing which holds a
lecture and events hall. This unit is decorated with a wall
painting by Shraga Weil commissioned by the architects,
                    depicting construction workers and farmers.
